How do I get started with programming for scientific computing?
I'm a graduate student in physics and I've been trying to learn programming to help with my research. I've heard that Python is a great language for scientific computing, but I'm not sure where to start. I've taken a few online courses, but I'm having trouble applying what I've learned to my own projects.
I've been trying to use libraries like NumPy and SciPy, but I'm not sure how to use them effectively. I've also been trying to learn about data visualization using Matplotlib, but I'm having trouble creating plots that are publication-quality.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with programming for scientific computing. Can you recommend any resources for learning Python and its associated libraries? Are there any specific projects or exercises that you would recommend for a beginner like me?
