How can I balance my work and personal life with a demanding tech job?
I've been working as a software engineer for the past 3 years, and I have to say, it's been a wild ride. I love the work I do, but it's taking a toll on my personal life. I often find myself working 12-hour days, 6 days a week, and it's affecting my relationships and my overall well-being. I feel like I'm constantly connected to my work, even when I'm not in the office, and it's hard for me to disconnect.
I've tried to set boundaries for myself, like not checking work emails or taking work calls during non-work hours, but it's hard to stick to it. I feel like I'm always on call, and that I need to be available 24/7. I'm worried that if I don't find a better balance, I'll burn out completely. I've heard of some people using apps and tools to help them manage their time and prioritize their well-being, but I'm not sure what would work best for me.
So, I was wondering, how do other people in the tech industry balance their work and personal life? Are there any specific strategies or tools that you've found helpful? Can I really achieve a better work-life balance, or is it just a myth?
